Thomas Ponder Reardon
February 15, 1923 - August 28, 2010
Thomas Ponder Reardon, 87, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Savannah Square. He was a native and lifelong resident of Savannah. Mr. Reardon was a 1942 graduate of Benedictine Military School and served in the United States Army Air Force as an Aerial Engineer 2750 from 1943 until 1946.
He served his trade at Charleston Navy Yard.
He was retired from American Can Company as a Mechanical Supervisor of Metal and Tools and was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Kate Reardon, brother, John M. Reardon, Jr., and sister, Mary Agnes Gunderson.
Mr. Reardon is survived by his wife, Gaynelle T. Reardon, his brother, Robert H. Reardon, his sister, Catherine Reardon Vaden, all of Savannah, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2010 with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m., at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with The Reverend Joseph Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
